Bio-inorganic model chemistry: structural and functional models of metalloenzymes
Catalysis using transition metal complexes and transition metal salt

- Syntheses: Inorganic synthesis (synthesis of mono and multi-nuclear transition metal complexes using solvothermal as well as normal bench-top synthetic methods); Basic organic synthesis (e.g. Schiff base syntheses, DCC coupling, Friedel-Craft reaction etc.). Organic synthesis using air and water sensitive reagents like nBuLi and Grignard reagent.
- Catalysis: Catalysis reactions (catalysis through oxygen activation, modeling enzymes like Catechol Oxidase, Phenoxazinone Synthesis, oxidative C-C bond coupling reactions, nitro reductions, Suzuki-Miyaura reaction, hydrogen evolution).
- Single crystal XRD: X-ray crystallography (acted as the student crystallographer for my PhD laboratory to mount and solve data of single crystals on Bruker kappa CCD and Agilent Technologies Supernova)
- Magneto-structural correlation: Magnetism (magnetic fitting up to 3 different coupling constant model using JulX, MAGPACK or for two different coupling constant model using ORIGIN 8.0)
- Glove Box: Trained in using glove box for air and water sensitive compounds.
- Other spectral techniques: Trained user of Jeol 400 MHz NMR (1H, 13C), proficient in kinetic studies using UV-VIS spectroscopy (low temperature UV-VIS experiments), experienced in ESI-MS (Waters Q-ToF micro) and GC-MS for studies of metal bound intermediates during catalysis and organic products respectively. Used gas chromatography (GC) for detection of hydrogen, CO2 and CO during catalysis or photolysis experiments.
- Electrochemistry: Proficient in recording and interpreting simple cyclic voltammetry data for metal complexes, ligands and substrates.
